The first step in our journey was to understand where we are at, in order to inform future action. We established our current plastic footprint and committed to pledging a percentage of every product purchase towards the removal of nature-bound plastic waste.

We fund waste management facilities and empower local communities in geographies without the necessary infrastructure to remove, recover, and recycle plastic waste which would have otherwise remained in the environment for centuries.

Next, we fund programs that enable these ventures to scale up plastic waste avoidance, removal, recovery, and recycling efforts. STEP 1: SUSTAINABLE SOURCING

To strengthen its commitment to sustainability, Freshfield has gone Plastic Negative. Through its partnership with rePurpose Global, the company is empowering marginalised waste workers, reducing plastic leakage into the waterways, and offering its products at a net negative plastic footprint.
STEP 3: THE FINAL DESTINATION
By going Plastic Negative, Freshfield is taking steps towards a circular packaging model with a minimal negative impact on the oceans. However, to make that impact negligible, the company is also working with rePurpose Global to make the switch from plastic to biodegradable or compostable packaging in 2020.
