The first step in our journey was to understand where we are at, in order to inform future action. We established our current plastic footprint and committed to pledging a percentage of every product purchase towards the removal of nature-bound plastic waste.

We fund the elimination low-value plastic waste from oceans and landfills through our collaboration with vetted rePurpose Impact Projects, which are empowering waste workers to tackle plastic waste in local communities.

When we choose to take action on our plastic waste, we create meaningful impact in a world without borders. We fund waste management facilities and empower local communities in geographies without the necessary infrastructure to remove, recover, and recycle plastic waste that would have otherwise remained in the environment for centuries.

Next, we fund programs that enable these ventures to scale up plastic waste avoidance, removal, recovery, and recycling efforts. Finally, through thorough due diligence, we ensure adherence to global environmental and labor standards.

STEP 1: SUSTAINABLE SOURCING
We as Pharmaceutical Industry, cannot do away with plastic use in our medications benefiting the society. Plastic used in medicine are to keep the potency of the drug, asway from effects of temprature and humidity. The medication strips get discarded after use finds its way on to the garbage and eventually ending up in ldanfills or in the oceans. This is grave health hazard to the mankind and nature as well. As responsible Corporate we have initiated the partnership with rePurpose Global to recover Ocean bound plastic to the tune of 60000 Kgs during the FY 2024.
STEP 2: THE PLASTIC ACTION SHIFT
Building on rePurpose Global’s belief that businesses can positively impact the environment and society, Bal Pharma has committed to Plastic Action. Through our partnership, we are taking the first step to systemic environmental change — financing waste management infrastructure and empowering marginalized workers fighting the plastic waste crisis on the frontlines.
